Each coordinate lists only a latitude. No longitude appears anywhere in the graphic. The caption reads simply: “Let’s coordinate to meet back up tomorrow for a big announcement.” Disney didn’t name a single port. It didn’t confirm a single itinerary. Naturally, that’s exactly what sent cruise fans into detective mode within minutes.
Disney superfans and cruise bloggers pulled up maps almost immediately. They started matching each latitude against cities Disney Cruise Line has used as homeports, past or present. Six numbers strongly suggest six separate locations getting some kind of mention. Early theories point to a mix spanning both US coasts and the Caribbean. That would line up with a broader itinerary reveal rather than a single new port announcement.
One destination keeps coming up again and again in fan speculation: New York City. It’s easy to see why that theory has legs. Disney Cruise Line hasn’t sailed out of New York since 2023. Back then, Disney Dream ran a handful of Bermuda and Eastern Canada sailings from the port. Before that, Disney Magic held that role for years. In 2016 and 2017, Magic ran regular round trips to Canada and New England. Some sailings even continued down toward Florida and the Bahamas.
New York never became a permanent Disney homeport, even in its best years. Disney always treated it more like a seasonal or seasonal-adjacent option. Port Canaveral, Galveston, and other year-round bases simply won out for permanent scheduling. Weather also played a role. Northeastern departures work best in warmer months, which limits how many sailings a New York season could realistically hold. Still, demand for a New York option never really disappeared. Northeastern families have asked for a return for years on cruise forums and social media. Every time another line adds a New York sailing, Disney fans ask the same question again.
It’s worth being upfront here: none of this is confirmed yet. Disney hasn’t named New York anywhere in its actual teaser. Every bit of the NYC theory comes from fans reverse-engineering partial coordinates on a graphic designed to build suspense. Disney is very good at these teaser campaigns, and vague clues are the entire point. The real answer arrives when Disney’s full reveal drops. That reveal is expected to cover Fall 2027 into Spring 2028 sailings fleet-wide.
That fleet has grown a lot since Disney Magic’s last New York run. Disney now operates Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, with Believe still to come. Any of those ships could theoretically anchor a new East Coast season, depending on what Disney actually announces. A New York return would matter a lot to Northeast families. Many currently drive or fly to Florida or Texas just to sail Disney.
For now, all anyone can do is watch and wait a little longer. Disney’s reveal is expected imminently, and cruise blogs are refreshing their pages in anticipation. If New York does make the cut, expect a wave of excitement from families who’ve wanted this for years.
