Margaritaville at Sea Just Hit One Million Guests — and It’s Only Getting Started

It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere — and apparently, a whole lot of people are choosing to celebrate with their feet on a ship deck rather than a barstool. Margaritaville at Sea officially welcomed its one millionth guest on June 25, 2026, with a surprise celebration aboard the Islander sailing out of Port Tampa Bay. A lucky Tennessee traveler got the full red-carpet treatment, including complimentary future cruises, onboard credits, and a whole lot of island-style fanfare. What a way to mark a milestone.

For context, Margaritaville at Sea has come a long way fast. The brand launched in 2022 with a single ship, the Paradise, sailing short Bahamas itineraries from the Port of Palm Beach. The Islander joined the fleet in June 2024, operating out of Tampa Bay with longer Caribbean routes to destinations like Aruba, Curaçao, Montego Bay, and even New Orleans. Together, the two ships have quietly built a loyal following of cruisers who love the brand’s laid-back, lifestyle-driven vibe.

But here’s where it really gets exciting: Margaritaville at Sea is gearing up to launch its third ship, the Beachcomber, in January 2027. Currently sailing as the Costa Fortuna under Costa Cruises, the ship will head into drydock in late September 2026 for an extensive transformation before emerging as the fleet’s largest vessel — capable of accommodating around 3,450 guests. It’ll homeport in Miami and feature everything from a Zac Brown-designed live music venue called Same Boat to new Bridge Wing Suites with panoramic forward-facing views and private bridge tours.

The broader takeaway here is significant. Margaritaville at Sea is proving that a strong lifestyle brand identity can compete in a cruise market dominated by giant legacy lines. Travelers aren’t just shopping for the biggest ship anymore — they want an experience that feels distinctive from the moment they board.

Whether you’ve sailed with them or not, Margaritaville at Sea is a brand worth watching. One million guests in just a few years is no accident — and with Beachcomber on the horizon, the next million might come even faster.
